What is HubSpot?
HubSpot is an agentic customer platform that unifies marketing, sales, customer service, content management, and data operations around a centralized customer relationship database. Designed to scale with businesses from single-person operations to enterprise companies with over 2,000 employees, the platform provides tools to consolidate customer records and manage buyer journeys. By housing cross-departmental operations within one system, organizations can eliminate disconnected data silos and coordinate outreach, deal management, and customer support.
The platform is structured into specialized functional areas known as hubs. Marketing Hub focuses on audience acquisition, campaign management, social media publishing on platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn, and lead generation through customizable forms, exit-intent popups, and calls-to-action. It also includes ad software for managing Google Ads and pay-per-click campaigns using CRM data. Sales Hub supplies tools for automated prospecting, pipeline management, deal tracking, and revenue forecasting.
Service Hub provides customer service teams with a shared inbox, automated ticketing, customer health scoring, and real-time product usage data to improve retention. For digital content operations and data management, Content Hub enables teams to build websites using a drag-and-drop page builder, host files, podcasts, and videos, and enforce brand consistency using AI-driven brand voice settings. Content Hub also supports gated asset libraries, member blogs, content approvals, and cross-site content embeds.
Data Hub cleans, combines, and activates raw customer information across connected tools, while Revenue Hub handles quote generation, digital payments, and subscription management. Every hub feeds directly into Smart CRM, which maintains contact records, communication histories, and activity logs across all touchpoints. AI capability is integrated across the platform through Agent Hub and Breeze Assistant. Organizations can deploy autonomous AI agents, such as Customer Agent to resolve routine customer service inquiries, Prospecting Agent to identify buying signals and send personalized outreach, and Data Agent to query customer data using natural language.
Additionally, Answer Engine Optimization software allows users to track how often their brand appears in AI-generated search results on platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. The Answer Engine Optimization feature provides sentiment analysis on a scale from negative 100 to positive 100, competitor share of voice tracking, and actionable content recommendations. The software runs directly in web browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge without requiring local installation or specialized IT support. Mobile applications for iOS and Android allow users to manage tasks, review reminders, and receive notifications on mobile devices.
