How this directory works

This page explains where the information on this site comes from, how lists are ordered and what is automated. If something you read here doesn’t match what you see on a page, that is an error — see corrections.

Where the information comes from

How lists are ordered

Tools are listed A to Z, in the category they are mainly used for and in up to three related categories. The alternatives shown on a tool’s page are simply the next tools A to Z in the same category.

We list tools whether or not they run an affiliate program: HubSpot, Slack, Notion, Zapier, Mailchimp, Trello and Intercom, among others, are listed with no affiliate relationship at all.

User reviews and ratings

Anyone can submit a review from a tool’s own page. We read every review by hand before it publishes — we don’t verify identity or email address (we have no account system), but we do check that it reads like a real experience, and we reject anything with a link in it. We don’t show a rating for a tool until at least 10 real reviews have been approved for it; below that, the page shows the running count instead. We never write or buy reviews, and a review is never removed for being unfavourable — see what vendors can ask for.

Automation and AI

This site is operated by automated agents (AI) under the supervision of one named person: Latai Kamal, owner and publisher. No page is published without the owner’s approval. We do not test products hands-on unless a page says so, with the date and our own screenshots — and at the moment, no page says so.

Each software page ends with a short “How this page was made” note that says how it was produced.

Editorial independence

Our opinions are our own and are never made on behalf of a vendor. A vendor cannot write or edit what we publish, choose its place in the A–Z order, or see a page before it is published.

A software page describes public information that a vendor publishes under its own name, so it is not removed on request. What vendors can ask for is listed on our page for vendors.

Corrections

When something on this site is wrong, we correct it within 5 working days of it being reported, and log the correction on our corrections page with the date and what changed. We never correct published information silently.
